Description

"Brother, where are you? You're making Momma worried."

2/5? for Sapkit's apprenticeship!
*halfkat101 bugged me to get to work on Sapkit art so he could be with Nettlekit for their ceremony. So I whipped this up in, two hours? The rest of them may or may not be unfinished sketches.

I really want to take this down because there are so many things I messed up on it. But I won't. :U

I missed a bit of the rp because I came in late but here is where we got to:

<Kh180 hopped into the rp>
<snowstorn16>( There is a bad storm that's producing a downpour with mouse sized hail and Nettlekit is missing so Robinstar, Fawnstep, Roseleaf, and Scarlegs are going to look for him. )))
<snowstorn16>The cream warriors pelt was slicked to her body. She dashed after Fawnstep, smelling the scent too. // Solarlegs inhaled and started fallowing the scent, pulling ahead of Fawnstep easily.
<kh180>Larkwing paced in front of the nursery, drenched from the heavy rainfall. Oh, where could you be Nettlekit? she wondered. The little tom had been gone for a long time, and each passing moment made her worry even more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sapkit sat just inside the den. Worry for his little brother clouded his eyes as he watched his mother pacing outside. "Can't I go look for him too? I could help by looking in small spaces!" he whined.
<snowstorn16>Solarlegs turned around and shouted, "I'm going back to comfort Larkwing!" barely hearing himself fom the cascade of water falling from the yellowy green sky. He spun around and hared back to the nursery, trying to ignore the pain from the mouse sized hail.
<kh180>Larkwing turned to the tiny tom behind her. She padded over and wrapped her tail around his sitting figure. "No Sapkit. I can't even imagine losing you as well. Your father will find him so don't worry." she calmed him with a smile on her face. A moment later she heard movement at the camp entrance. She jolted up and raced across the camp hoping to see the kit's bright tumbling body. Instead she saw the blurred figure of a gold tom. "Have you found him Solarlegs?" she asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay." Sapkit reluctantly agreed with his mother, so as not to worry her more. He listened to the pitter patter of rain and slowly began nodding off. He felt his mother leave but sleep had already consumed his body. He relaxed his muscles and he began his slumber, dreaming of playing with his brothers as the warm sun washed over their bodies.
<snowstorn16>Solarlegs was panting from the rough trek back. Once he gathered his breath he said no, his voice somber.
<kh180>Larkwing stepped back. "Oh." she mewed heartbroken, "Here lets get out of this rain before any sickness arrives." She turned back to the nursery motioning for the tom to follow. She ducked inside and found Sapkit asleep. She picked him up and set him down with his sleeping brothers. She wrapped her body around them and began licking her shoulder trying to dry herself. "How bad is it?" she asked worry pricking at her voice.
<snowstorn16>The tom sighed and said, "It's bad, there is mouse sized pieces of ice falling and the down pour is not letting up. And the sky is yellowy green, which I'm guessing is not the best thing."
<kh180>Fear spread across her body. None of those signs were good, especially in Nettlekit's position. "How much of the territory has been searched?" she asked. Her figure tensed as she awaited his response. Maybe Sapkit was right. Not to let him or his brothers out to help, but that Nettlekit could be somewhere only a kit could fit. A small crevice in the rock, or a trench that fit only the mice.
<snowstorn16>"We've searched around and the rest of the patrol is following his scent."
<kh180>"A scent trail? In this weather? Whose heading the search at the moment?" she asked bewildered. A scent trail in the rain could be really difficult to follow and even harder as time passed. It was tearing her apart not being able to help search for her lost little one. Each passing moment not knowing if he was safe in a small shelter or hurt under a fallen branch.
<snowstorn16>"Robinstar, Fawnstep, and Roseleaf.." he stated, his eyes hardened in a feeling of uselessness.
<kh180>She gave nervous sigh. Good friends were risking there lives to look for her and Robinstar's kit. She owed a great dept to them for looking. Her other kits were asleep, safe in their nest. Would it be okay for her to leave them in the care of another queen to look for their brother? she thought. "How mad do you think Robinstar would be if I went out to look as well?" she asked the tom. Desperation pleaded in her eyes.
<snowstorn16>The tom looked back at her, his eyes softening, "I'm not sure, but I don't think it's the best idea, he's already worried sick for Nettlekit but what if you get hurt too? That would add alot to his shoulders."
<kh180>She looked down at the remaining sleeping bodies. But I feel sick to my stomach for Nettlekit as well. she kit-ishly thought. "Okay." she mewed. Now she saw where Sapkit had gotten bits of his personality. "I feel so helpless." she told Solarlegs.
<snowstorn16>Solarlegs looked at her with eyes of sadness and pain, he didn't want the queen to be worried, they would find him!
<kh180>The sound of light snores and steady breathing consumed the small den as the two cats became silent. Larkwing closed her eyes, listening to the peaceful shield that wrapped over the camp. She droned the wind and rain out so only her sleeping kits remained. She protectively wrapped her body tighter around them. "Come back safe Nettlekit." she whispered.
<snowstorn16>Roseleaf was shivering as the rain and hail pelted at the patrol. She could barely put one paw in front of the other from the pain from the hail.
<kh180>Larkwing licked each sleeping kit's head before standing up. She turned to a restless Sedgeflight and whispered her favor. A quick nod and a thank you later had her halfway out the den's opening. "Come on Solarlegs. I know this is probably my worst idea yet, but Nettlekit needs to be found soon." she meowed to the tom.
<snowstorn16>He nodded and followed her, bracing for the hail to start hitting his skin.
<kh180>Larkwing began jogging to the camp entrance. Hail pelted her coat with every step, thankfully her thick, long coat mildly cushioned their impact. "Which way was the scent trail going?" she asked the tom through gritted teeth.
<snowstorn16>He opened his eyes to slits and said, "Take a left then go up!"
** PresleyWolf-Fox has joined
<kh180>Larkwing nodded. Following his directions up a small ridge and into a open field. She raced through it, glancing every which way for the lost ball of fur. She took a deep breath looking for the scent. But didn't catch anything. A small fallen tree that laid a few fox-lengths away caught her eye. She raced over to it and looked inside. "Nettlekit?" she called. Mush to her despair, nothing but mushrooms resided there. She stood back up. "Nettlekit!" she called over the wind and rain. She focused her mind on the small kits voice. She heard a rustle in a bush only a small ways away. "Over there!" she yelled to Solarlegs.
<PresleyWolf-Fox>Fanwstep's ears flicked as she heard a pair of different voices from the ones in the patrol. "Solarlegs! Larkwing?...Larkwing!" She called through the roaring wind. "Have you found Nettlekit?"
<snowstorn16>Solarlegs hared after the queen, catching up quickly. He stopped by the bush, eyes wide.
<kh180>"Oh, Fawnstep! Its you. I-I thought you where Nettlekit." Larkwing mewed. She was happy that another friend was there to help but disappointment pricked at the heart. "We haven't found him yet." she continued, "Lets try looking over there. He could be hiding from the weather" She motioned with her tail to a rock wall that separated HeatherClan from StoneClan.
<PresleyWolf-Fox>Fawnstep looked towards the stone barrier and uneasyness pricked at her. "I hope we won't have to resort to crossing borders, but if we have to that's what we'll do." She retorted, taking off towards the wall.
<snowstorn16>Suddenly there was a wail, "I found his scent trail!!!!!" /// Solarlegs listened to the call and looked at the two she cats.
<kh180>Larkwing padded after Fawnstep. "Neither do I but-" Larkwing was cut off by the yell of another cat. "Who was that?" she asked the others. The wind had distorted the sound making it hard for her to make out who had found the path her kit had taken. He ears pricked at the quiet shuffle of paws.
<PresleyWolf-Fox>Fawnstep narrowed her eyes at the floor in thought, as she replayed the sound of the yowl in her head. "Was that...?"
<snowstorn16>A cream warrior's pelt was barely visible in the rain. She was gasping for air but she still commanded her friends, "Follow me! I found his scent trail and a few sets of tiny paw prints!" She led them, running with all her might through the curtains of hail.
<kh180>"Roseleaf? Is that you?" Larkwing called to a cream blur only a few fox-lengths away. She breathed in a deep whiff of air but could smell nothing but the cold and rain. She padded closer to what she imagined was the young warrior, checking behind herself to see if Fawnstep and Solarlegs were following.
** snowstorn16 has left [connection closed]
<PresleyWolf-Fox>Fawnstep shook her head out of annoyance but as she stopped, she was facing the floor and she saw the tiny paw prints in the mud. "This way!" She ordered, following the path of tiny paw prints.

End for now. I'll post the rest when its finished.
